When you leave your hotel around 09.30, your guide will drive you through Mechouar to the impressive Dar el Makhzen, where you will stop at the imposing seven-bronze gated palace. From here you can walk to and through Mellah, which has a strong atmosphere and exquisite example of Mauro Spanish architecture. Then you drive to Borj Sud to enjoy the panoramic view of the medina.

You take the taxi again and stop at the main entrances of Bab Boujloud and Fes el-Bali, built-in 1913. Here you can visit the beautiful 14th-century Medersa Bou Anania (including entrance fee), the largest Medersa built by Merinids, and start your walking tour of the ancient Fes Medina (UNESCO World Heritage) labyrinth. (Closed on Tuesdays) and nearby Dar el-Magana, which contains a clepsydra or water clock (the ongoing repairs may restrict access).

Now at the renowned tanneries on the bank of the Wadi Fes, despite the strong smell, is one of the most picturesque souks of Fez. You continue through East-Seffarine and its brass workers, through the colorful East-Sebbaghine with its Dyers Street; and the Souq el-Atterine area of spices and edibles; outside the impressive al-Quarawiyyin Mosque and the University and the Atterine Medersa (includes input). It is considered one of the wonders of Arab architecture, built between 1323 and 1325 by the Marinid sultan Abu Said Othman. You pass by the tomb of Moulay Idriss the second sovereign Idrissid, considered as the founder of Fez, built in the 18th century and restored in the middle of the 19th century at its last stop, the charming Place el-Nejjarine with its fountain and caravansaries (entrance included).

Depending on your hotel, you can return on foot, or join your taxi for the short journey back to your accommodation after this walk in 1200 years of history.
